Infused Apple Filling for Pie or Crisp

Yields 1 pie ( 8 servings)  or 9×13” pan of crisp (12 servings) depending on dosage from the butter. Take the total THC and divide by the serving of what you decide to make…Happy Baking!!!

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 Large Granny Smith Apple
  • 2 oz. SSF Clarified Butter
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Flour or starch of choice
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven at 350° 

Baking time: 30-40 minutes or until crust or crisp is golden brown

Melt the infused butter out of the jar by using a microwave (take the lid off)  or hot water.

Peel and core the apples, slice them at ⅛ to ¼ inch thick into half-moons, and place in the crust or pan.

In a 2qt pot at medium to medium-low heat melt the butter, and sugar together until it resembles a loose caramel.

Once the mixture starts to bubble, whisk in the flour or starch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla (optional) and bring the mixture is back to a bubble.

Take off the heat and drizzle the mixture over the apples. Cover with Crust or crisp and bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown
